Welcome to Shalla Travel (“we”, “our”, or “us”). These Terms and Conditions govern your use of our website www.shalla.et, mobile applications, and any services we provide related to hotel bookings, tour guides, car rentals, and agent-based referrals.

By accessing or using our services, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use our platform.

1. Definitions

• “User”: Anyone who uses the Shalla platform, including customers, agents, hotels, guides, or vehicle providers.

• “Agent”: A person or entity who refers clients and earns a commission.

• “Service Providers”: Hotels, tour guides, car rental agencies, or transport companies listed on the platform.

• “Booking”: A reservation or confirmed service made through Shalla.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use our platform. If you are registering on behalf of a company or group, you must have the legal authority to bind that entity.

3. Services Offered

We provide:

• Hotel bookings across Ethiopia

• Tour guide matchmaking

• Car rentals and transport services

• An agent-based affiliate system

All bookings and services are provided by third-party service providers. Shalla is not the direct provider unless specifically stated.

4. User Responsibilities

As a user, you agree:

• To provide accurate and truthful information

• To use the platform for lawful purposes only

• Not to misuse, hack, or interfere with the site’s operation

• To respect the terms of service of hotels, guides, and transport providers

5. Bookings and Payments

• All bookings are subject to availability.

• Payments can be made via local methods (Telebirr, CBE, Amole, etc.) or international methods (PayPal, Stripe – when available).

• Booking is confirmed once payment is successfully completed.

• Prices may vary due to currency conversion, demand, or service provider updates.

6. Cancellations and Refunds

• Each hotel, tour guide, or transport service provider has their own cancellation policy. Please review it before booking.

• In general, cancellations made 48 hours before the service date may be eligible for a refund, minus transaction fees.

• Refunds are processed within 7–14 business days.

• No refunds are provided for no-shows or late arrivals.

7. Agent Commission System

• Agents can register and receive a unique referral ID.

• Commissions are paid monthly once a minimum threshold is met (e.g., 500 ETB or $10).

• Commissions are subject to verification and cancellation of bookings.

• Misuse or fraud may lead to termination of agent privileges.

8. Service Provider Terms

• All service providers must be verified and registered.

• Providers are responsible for fulfilling the services they offer.

• Shalla may delist or suspend providers who breach quality standards, receive repeated complaints, or violate the law.

9. Limitation of Liability

Shalla acts as a platform. We are not liable for:

• The quality, safety, legality, or conduct of any hotel, guide, or transport service

• Delays, cancellations, injuries, losses, or damages caused by third-party providers

• Technical errors, downtime, or data loss

10. Intellectual Property

All content on this platform, including logos, branding, texts, and images, are property of Shalla or its licensors. You may not copy, distribute, or use them without permission.

11. Privacy Policy

Your personal data is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which outlines how we collect, store, and use your information.

12. Changes to Terms

Shalla reserves the right to update these Terms at any time. We will notify users via email or platform notifications when changes are made.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia. Disputes shall be settled through Ethiopian courts or arbitration, if agreed by both parties.
